The Team

George Lemmon

George Lemmon, Co-Founder, Principal

George comes to Elevate Benefits with 20 years of experience in selling and leading sales teams for some of the largest carriers in the ancillary, worksite and self funded medical space.

His passion lies in making connections that are valuable for all parties and that drew him to working with the brokerSpotlight and Advisor Arsenal platforms. "Rolling out Elevate's next level platform for employers to select a broker and for brokers selecting partners and vendors is what I'm focused on." His background in working with brokerage houses to develop national partnerships and his senior leadership roles at carriers provide the experience necessary to help elevate's tools grow into the industry standard.

George has MBA in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago's Booth School and a degree in Economics and Management from Albion College. He enjoys Golf, Basketball, Paddle Tennis (look it up, it's something to do in the cold) and cooking with his wife and two sons in Chicago, Il.

Megan Chiarello

Megan Chiarello, Marketing Director

Megan Chiarello is a versatile marketing leader who works with growing organizations to shape brand identify and craft profitable go-to-market strategies. She is a partner with P3 Workplace Solutions, the founder of Grassetto Creative and the Marketing Director for Elevate Benefits.

Megan’s vast experience extends across sales and marketing roles in the employer healthcare industry.
Her work focuses on strategic planning, creative services and client engagement for long-term growth. During her tenure in the benefits technology space, Megan was a key member of the senior leadership team that poised the company for a highly successful acquisition in 2016.

As the Marketing Director for Elevate Benefits, Megan works with the executive team to develop an integrated brand strategy and lead marketing initiatives for product positioning, client advocacy and customer acquisition.

Megan graduated from the University of North Florida with her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a double minor in Communications and English. She is the Vanguard Council Chair for the National Association of Health Underwriters and an industry speaker who gets her inspiration from the bottom of a Starbucks cup.

Carrie Morris

Carrie Morris, Customer Concierge

Carrie brings a wealth of experience and track record for excellence in benefits brokerage, HR and as a leader. She excels at helping our users get what they need, and fast, so they get the most from the SHRM Broker Finder platform.

Mae Bualat

Mae Bualat, Business and Software Analyst

Mae brings a wealth of experience as a business and software analyst, having developed eCommerce websites, mobile applications, productivity tools, operations management software and hiring management systems. She’s been on projects with headquarters in Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Europe, and the US.

Mae has a degree in Computer Science from Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan. In her spare time, Mae enjoys spending time with her dog and playing the ukulele or the flute. ​​​​​​​

Jessica Waltman

Jessica Waltman, Compliance

Jessica is a health reform and business strategy consultant with more than twenty years of experience in health insurance markets, health policy and executive leadership. Jessica partners with employer and broker clients to help them with their compliance needs and to advise them about evolving health care regulatory and legislative issues, ensuring her clients are always headed in the direction the market is going.

Prior to founding her regulatory consulting firm, Forward Health Consulting, Jessica served the National Association of Health Underwriters (NAHU) for sixteen years, including eight years as their Senior Vice President of Government Affairs. She has travelled the country explaining health reform concepts to vast audiences of agents, brokers, consultants, employers and individual consumers. Jessica has not only read the whole health reform law many times over, but she’s also digested the more than 25,000 pages of regulations, guidance and forms that go along with it!

Eve Phillips

Eve Phillips, Product Advisor

CEO and Co-Founder of Empower Interactive, provider of a digital behavioral health platform. Empower’s flagship module, Good Days Ahead, teaches evidence-based techniques to individuals for managing stress, anxiety and depression. Previous experience includes software strategy and product management (at eCert, Chirp, Zazzle, Microsoft, and Trilogy), and technology investing (Greylock, Vector, Amadeus, and Inflection).

Eve graduated from MIT with an undergraduate and masters in EECS and earned her MBA at Stanford.

David-Churchill

David Churchill, Co-Founder, Advisor

Dave brings 22 years of employee benefits experience to the company, having held several award winning sales and management positions for national insurance carriers. In 2010 Dave co-founded Ascendant, Inc. a firm specializing in distribution of creative Human Resources solutions to benefits brokers and employers looking for forward-thinking solutions. His expertise includes HR technology solutions, business development, and employee benefits distribution.

Dave is a graduate of the University of Michigan and resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife and three children.

Brett Rosen

Brett Rosen, Advisor

For the past 13 years Brett has been on the leadership team at OneDigital Health and Benefits (formerly Digital Insurance), one of the 50 largest insurance brokers in the country. From 2004 – 2010 Brett served as Senior Vice President of Sales, and then transitioned to Executive Vice President, Mergers & Acquisitions. During his tenure the company has grown from $2million to over $200 million in revenue, expanded from 25 employees to over 1,000, and holds the distinction of being named to the INC. 5000 for 9 consecutive years.

Brett began his career with Accenture and also spent time in benefits technology at Hewitt Associates before embarking on a sales career. His first sales role was with Unum, where he spent 8 years and won numerous sales awards.

Brett graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and lives in Roswell, GA. ​​​​​​​

Tim Minahan

Tim Minahan, Advisor

Tim serves as Chief Marketing Officer for Citrix. He is recognized as a game-changing technology executive with proven success creating new markets, driving visionary Cloud transformation, growing platform businesses, and leading high-performing teams to unprecedented success. Prior to his current role, Tim was CMO of SAP Cloud and Line of Business, where he directed all aspects of global marketing for a $2 billion+ annualized subscription software business. He is an active evangelist on technology and business trends, a social media maven, a sought-after speaker at industry events, and a published author on subjects ranging from business transformation and e-commerce to leadership and technology.

Liz Frayer

Liz Frayer, Advisor

Liz Frayer is CEO of Intrepid Benefits. Liz has truly seen it all in the employee benefits business. She has held every job in Intrepid - from Temp to Customer Service Rep to President and then finally Owner/CEO after buying the business in 2012. What do you call someone who buys a health insurance agency the year before ACA takes effect? Probably a lot of things, but Liz felt fearless and the name Intrepid was born!

Sam Kavanagh

Sam Kavanagh, Spokesperson

While backcountry skiing with some close friends on New Year’s day in 2005, Sam was caught in an avalanche that resulted in a severe compound fracture of his left tibia and fibula. Given the remoteness of his location he spent two days in a tent prior to being airlifted to the regional hospital in Bozeman, Montana. Over the course of his 2 day stay in the backcountry, Sam lost over half his blood supply, was experiencing kidney failure and had life threatening infections in his lower leg. After nine surgeries including the amputation of his left leg below his knee, Sam received a prosthetic leg.

Prior to his accident Sam had been a highly competitive cyclist, and in the depths of coming to terms with his injury and prosthesis Sam recommitted to a dream of becoming a world class cyclist – albeit now in the Paralympic category.

Sam’s story of a sudden life threatening circumstance, his response, and resulting accomplishments is truly inspiring. When you look more deeply, this story also offers fascinating insight into the importance and interconnectedness of an employee benefits plan, the employer and benefits brokers, insurance carriers and the medical community in ensuring that people receive the care and financial support they need at crucial times in their lives.

Marc Willency

Marc Willency, Advisor

Marc joined Electric Lightwave/Integra in September 2015 as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Director's bringing with him an extensive background in the telecommunications industry and broad experience leading sales and sales-related organizations, network solutions, operations and customer service. During his tenure, achieved the successful execution of a comprehensive business transformation culminating in the separation of the business into two company's including the parent company name change to Electric Lightwave. In March of 2017, completed successful sale of business to Zayo Group.

Prior to working at Electric Lightwave, Marc served as group vice president for customer solutions and enablement at Level 3 Communications, where he oversaw several sales, operations, and customer experience management functions in the North American region. At tw telecom, Marc was senior vice president of customer operations and held senior positions in operations, sales and marketing, customer care, including strategy development and implementation for Customer experience. Marc holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Michigan University.
