Michigan Planners Overview
In 1962, Michigan Planners was born as an independent life insurance agency. Tony DiLorenzo founded the company with a driven spirt, friendly personality, and solid work ethic. Over the years, the firm has flourished into a full-service employee benefits firm, serving more than 255 clients. It stands strong in existence today!
The firm is staffed with 25 employees, spread across two Michigan locations (Washington Township and Traverse City). Led by Tony’s two sons, John DiLorenzo and Mike DiLorenzo, the service platform is based on the original founder’s belief in hard work and personal attention.
The group health and retirement divisions have experienced consistent year over-year growth, attributable to

- Aggressive Carrier Negotiation.
It is management’s belief that being slightly overstaffed is always preferred over the alternative, in order to maintain excellent customer response time, allow for proper cross training, and provide team members ample time for family priorities.

The National Association of Health Underwriters represents more than 100,000 licensed health insurance agents, brokers, general agents, consultants and benefit professionals through more than 200 chapters across America. NAHU members service the health insurance needs of large and small employers as well as people seeking individual health insurance coverage. Every day, NAHU members work to obtain insurance for clients who are struggling to balance their desire to purchase high-quality and comprehensive health coverage with the reality of rapidly escalating medical care costs. As such, one of NAHU's primary goals is to do everything to promote access to affordable health insurance coverage.
The Traverse Area Human Resource Association (TAHRA) is a Society for Human Resource Management Chapter Affiliate based in Traverse City, Michigan. TAHRA has been a valuable resource for our region’s human resource professionals, employers, and workforce for over three decades.
